Anemoiapolis: Chapter 1 - A Surreal and Haunted Adventure Game

Anemoiapolis: Chapter 1 is a full version adventure game developed by Andrew Quist for Windows. The game is set in a surreal and haunted underground neighborhood where the player must discover its origins and escape with their life and sanity intact. The game finds horror in the familiar, presenting places so ordinary that film and TV usually avoid them.

The player must run, swim, jump, slide, and climb to freedom as there is no one around to let them out. They will have to forge their own path to the exit, utilizing their surroundings, pushing obstacles, and smashing windows. The game also puts the player's puzzle skills to the test as they need to break into electrical panels to access new areas.

The dynamic environments of Anemoiapolis keep the player on their toes as they navigate procedural labyrinths designed from the ground-up to make them lost and confused. The game's soundtrack by JORDANN and 4REST sets the perfect mood for the eerie atmosphere. Anemoiapolis is a personal retelling of the concepts of "liminal spaces" and "the backrooms" inspired by the developer's Michigan hometown.
